Bonus Field Trip!

 Dear 2nd Grade Grown Ups,

Due to being awarded an educational scholarship, we have planned a fun and adventurous field trip that will take place Tuesday, May 21st, 2024.  We have the opportunity to visit the Ancient Life Museum at Thanksgiving Point.  This field trip is our only field trip that we will be riding FrontRunner.

All students and parent volunteers must be at the Roy FrontRunner Station by 8:00.  The address for the station is 4155 South Sandridge Dr.  We will be taking the 8:15 train to the Lehi station and we cannot wait for those who are late. Teachers will be at the train station at 7:45, so feel free to drop your child off earlier than 8:00

The cost for this field trip is $6.00 per student, which the scholarship will cover. We are looking for parents to chaperone this field trip.  The cost for volunteers’/chaperones entry into the museum is $6.00.  All money needs to be paid to the office by Friday, May 17th.   If we do not have payment by this time, you will not be able to attend with us.  Please indicate on the form below if you would like to chaperone.  Due to the nature of this trip and the need for constant adult supervision, PLEASE make other arrangements for ALL other siblings. It is the museum's policy that chaperones have NO OTHER CHILDREN with them.  It is imperative we have as many chaperones as possible, with that being said, please consider joining us with your students group.   **We will be eating their lunch back at the Train Station before loading for our return trip back**

We will be taking the FrontRunner home as well.  We will catch the train at 1:14 and arrive back at the Roy Train Station at 2:45.  This is earlier than school gets out.  You will need to make arrangements to pick your child up at this time.

School lunch will be available this day, but it MUST be ordered by Friday, May 10th.  Please indicate on the form below which lunch option your child will be taking with us.  Students will also need to bring their backpack on this day.  Their backpack will serve as a storage place for their coat and lunch throughout the day. Students will not be allowed to purchase anything from the gift shop, so please DO NOT SEND MONEY with them.

Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather the day of the field trip.  We will be walking from the Frontrunner station to the museum, which is about ¾ of a mile (15-17 minute walk).  Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.

Please fill out this form and make payments to the office no later than Friday, May 17th. However, we will gladly accept them before that.

Hello, Quest Families!

The State has an amazing program called Kids Read Now! This program allows our students, Kindergarten through 3rd Grade, to select FOUR FREE BOOKS to read during the summer (they’ll be shipped to your house). The intent is to encourage reading during the summer months and to help students maintain their reading skills. Orders will only be fulfilled once we have indicated  that every child has made their selections. Please click here for an instructional video on selecting and receiving these books. This link will also be available on your student’s class blog. Please select your books by Friday, May 3rd . Thanks for all you do. Happy summer and happy READING!

Hogle Zoo Field Trip

 Dear Parents,

Due to an unforeseen system glitch at the zoo, our scheduled field trip for May has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 23rd by the zoo.  We know this does not give us a lot of time for chaperones to get work off.  We appreciate all of your support and would love to have any of you chaperone that can.

We are going to the zoo on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. We will be leaving the school on buses at 8:45 and returning at 2:15. School lunches are provided for school lunch daily cost, please mark if you would like one for your child. If you choose to send your child with a home lunch, please make sure it is completely disposable, including the bag, and labeled with their name.

Due to high bus costs, we are asking for a $5 donations from each student. If you are able, please pay at the front office.
Please have your students wear their red uniform shirts with their uniform pants/shorts on **TUESDAY** for our Hogle Zoo field trip.

Volunteer info:    Thank you for all of you willing to volunteer as chaperones with a group! Unfortunately, we learned today that all volunteers due to bus space will need to drive separately and meet us at the zoo. Volunteers will need to pay for your own entry of $21.95. We do get 5 adult tickets per class. I will let you know if you are one of the five in a later email. Otherwise, please plan to pay for your entry at the Zoo before we arrive. Volunteers must be prepared to stay with their group at all times, bring a backpack to hold lunches, and bring your own personal lunch. We ask that you do not bring siblings, so your attention is on our students. You will need to drive yourself and meet at the zoo at 9:30am with ticket purchased. We will plan to leave the zoo at 1:15pm. At that point, volunteers are welcome to check out their children with me at the bus and go home.
Please click to link to fill out the permission form and sign up to chaperone.
