Dioramas

 

  • This Week’s Happenings:
  • Weds: Bring supplies for dioramas (see info. below)
  • Thurs: Library Day – Remember your book!
  • Fri: Charitable Dress Down (Not included in prepaid Dress Down Days)
  • UPCOMING IMPORTANT DATES
  • Nov. 21: Diorama displays 2:20-3:00
  • Nov. 25-29 – Thanksgiving Break – NO SCHOOL

Dioramas: Each student will create an animal diorama using a shoebox or a box no larger than a small laptop. Your child has already selected their animal and started to do some research. Please help them gather supplies to bring to school on Wednesday, November 13. We will work on the dioramas on Thursday & Friday of that week. The students will then display them on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 2:20-3:00. Parents are welcome to attend this event.  Volunteers: I would love to have some help as we create the dioramas. Please email me if you could assist any of these days and times: Thursday, Nov. 14 from 2:30 – 3:00 or Friday, Nov. 15 from 12:30 – 1:00. Thank you for your cooperation in making this a fun and educational experience for our students!

  • Rocks, sticks, misc. decorations for the habitat

Upcoming Animal Diorama Project

 Dear Families,

We have an exciting project coming up in science! Each student will create an animal diorama using a shoebox or a box no larger than a small laptop. Your child has already selected their animal and started to do some research. Please help them gather supplies to bring to school on Wednesday, November 13. We will work on the dioramas on Thursday & Friday of that week. The students will then display them on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 2:20-3:00. Parents are welcome to attend this event.

Practice page for Fall Break

 We've been working on adding and subtracting with 2-digit numbers. I am sending home this practice sheet to help students get extra practice and not forget what we've learned over the Fall break. Students who bring it back will get a small prize!

Lexile Book Search

 Here is an excellent resource for parents who are looking for books on your kids reading level. We use Lexile reading leveling. You can go to this website and search books on your child's reading level by Lexile score. When searching for books, I would stay within 100 above or below.
